Lake Macquarie Transport Interchange

RMS Verification Services

The Lake Macquarie Transport Interchange is a major road improvement to connect the areas of Glendale and Cardiff including the installation of over 2km of road, upgrades to intersections and improving pedestrian, cycling and bus facilities. The aim of the project is to transform this area into a major regional commercial and transport hub.

Stage One of the Lake Macquarie Transport Interchange is now complete and included works to upgrade the intersection at Main Road and Glendale Drive which Barker Ryan Stewart provided RMS Verification services to, the project has already begun benefiting the community by easing traffic congestion around the area and providing additional access to the Glendale shopping and sporting precinct. The future stages will ease congestion further with the Pennant Street bridge linking Glendale to Cardiff, and provide greater transport links with plans to construct a new train station and bus depot close to the retail precinct.

Lake Macquarie City Council is now looking to make further improvements with plans to move into the next stage of works which includes the construction of the Pennant Street Bridge over the rail corridor. This stage will unlock a lot of underutilised and undeveloped land and invite businesses to move into the area and unlock the potential of residential development. This stage is greatly supported by the community and local businesses and backed by key groups such as; the NRMA, Lake Mac Business and the Hunter Development Corporation.

You can help the Lake Macquarie Transport Interchange move into the next stage by showing your support for funding for the Pennant Street Bridge through this online portal on the Lake Macquarie Council website.
