Muswellbrook Residential Subdivision

Located next door to Eastbrook Links Estate, Barker Ryan Stewart have been engaged by Bathla Group to provide surveying and civil engineering design services for a 500+ lot residential subdivision for Stages 16-18 and Stages 19-32.

To assist the civil design process for roads, earthworks, stormwater, sewer and water design, our survey team have conducted external boundary detailed survey and updated the existing survey model including two existing entry roads both named Wright Circuit for Stages 16-18. An external boundary survey for Stages 19-32 has also been completed to determine this part of the site including preparation of preliminary survey model using existing survey information and external lidar data with GNSS ground truthing. From the survey model, we have produced a slope analysis plan to assist with decision making.

Survey fieldwork was undertaken using a Trimble S5 Robotic theodolite with a Trimble R10 GNSS Rover using the NSW CORRS network.

The civil design works are currently underway to assist the development application, creating approximately 109 residential lots for Stages 16-18 and approximately 400+ residential lots for Stages 19-32. Barker Ryan Stewart has been engaged for both the concept and detailed designs.

Holden Street, Gosford

47-67 Rooty Hill Road North is a proposed 2 x mixed-use residential and retail buildings, comprising of 69 residential apartments and 2-levels of basement car parking.

The development requires the construction of the adjacent Premier Lane, to extend and connect to Rooty Hill Road. The construction of two on-site detention tanks and the associated drainage is also necessary to support the high-rise development.

Chichester Dam Road, Bendolba

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Dungog Shire Council for detailed design services for the proposed road upgrade of Chichester Dam Road, Bendolba, Sugar Loaf Road to Common Creek.

The proposed reconstruction includes overlay and full depth pavement construction, re-profiling road longitudinal grades and cross falls, new Sugar Load Road intersection configuration, culvert upgrade, line marking and signage, and utility identification.

Fieldsend Street, East Maitland

As part of the Maitland City Council’s 2016/2017 Capital Works Budget, Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by the Council for civil engineering services to undertake the concept design for the Fieldsend Street road upgrade.

The design provided was for the upgrade and widening of Fieldsend Street between Metford Road and Turton Street. The associated works included the upgrade and widening of the road, provision of roadside parking, off-road cycleway, new footpath facilities, and a pedestrian bridge. These works will help facilitate for the future Maitland Hospital location and the adjacent sports ground.

Tennyson RFS Shed

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Barbara Tarnawski Architects c/- Hawkesbury City Council for stormwater design services including gutter design, associated with the construction of a new three-bay fire shed and the attached meeting and training facilities for the Tennyson Rural Fire Service.

Barker Ryan Stewart worked closely with Barbara Tarnawski Architects to ensure the project was delivered on time and to budget, in accordance with council requirements.

Williams Bridge, Wollombi

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Cessnock City Council to provide road and drainage design and a road safety audit, necessary for the safety upgrades for the recently constructed Williams Bridge.

The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart included; guardrail design, line marking and signage amendments to address items raised in a road safety audit supplied by Council. The challenges associated with this project included the design of a safety barrier system for the bridge approach that could not extend over the existing bridge or block flood water flows. Due to these constraints, limited standard options were available due however a compromise was reached that met Councils requirements.
  

Glendonbrook Road, Glendonbrook

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by the Singleton Council to provide civil engineering design services, associated with the reconstruction and upgrade works for approximately 1km of Glendonbrook Road.

The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart included; horizontal and vertical alignment, full depth pavement construction and widening, drainage culvert design and upgrades, guardrail, new kerb and gutter, line-marking and signage. The challenges associated with this project included maintaining works within the tight road corridor and minimising where possible extensive earthworks on the large existing batter and rock cuttings.

Dungog Road, Hilldale

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Dungog Shire Council for detailed design services for the proposed road upgrade of a 400m section of Dungog Road.

The proposed upgrade includes the reconstruction of the existing failing road pavement along Dungog Road, as well as the provision of the widening, guard railing, drainage upgrade, and line marking and signage.

Pedestrian infrastructure coffs harbour

Pedestrian Infrastructure For Schools – Coffs Harbour Region

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Coffs Harbour City Council to provide civil engineering design services to upgrade pedestrian infrastructure around a number of different schools across the Coffs Harbour region.

The schools and proposed works included;

– Bishop Druitt College – creating a pedestrian link from the Bishop Druitt College entrance to a neighbouring street and installing new kerb ramps/refuge/blisters while extending the footpath.
– Coffs Harbour Public School – Relocate and upgrade existing school children’s crossing, new kerb ramps and upgrades to the median including pedestrian fencing. As well as installing a new footpath to connect existing – footpaths between surrounding streets.
– Boambee Public School – Wombat Crossing to replace existing children’s crossing.
– Mary Help of Christians – Kerb ramps, kerb extensions and construction of a new footpath.
– Nana Glen Public School – Wombat Crossing and new kerb ramps.
– St Augustine’s Primary School – Wombat Crossing and new kerb ramps.

The BRS team worked closely with Council to ensure designs were created that would work best for each individual school. All the designs were created with stakeholders input as well as considering all of the environmental constraints that were relevant for each area. The team delivered the project quickly and efficiently.

Coffs Harbour City Council acquired funding for these works through the 2016–2017 RMS Facilities Around Schools Grant and once works are complete these improvements will create safer surroundings for the students at these schools as well improving traffic flow throughout the area.

Mt Irvine and Bowens Creek Road Survey BRS

Mt Irvine and Bowen Creek Road

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Hawkesbury City Council to come up with a concept fire trail design in order to upgrade the dilapidated track along Mt Irvine and Bowen Creek Road between Mt Irvine and Bilpin in the Blue Mountains. The project involves significant survey and geotechnical work – in a somewhat challenging location, as well a concept bridge design and Heritage Assessment.

The existing Mt irvine and Bowen Road track used to be a public road, however it was decommissioned approximately five years ago because it had dilapidated significantly and become a safety risk. A couple of sections of the track have even collapsed into the valley as a result of land slip.

Should Hawkesbury City Council proceed to the construction stage, the trail will provide safe access for all emergency services through the area. The Mt Irvine and Bowen Road track is to be used by emergency services only and would not be open to residents.

Port Stephens Council engaged Barker Ryan Stewart to supply a detailed engineering design for the construction of a roundabout on Lemon Tree Passage Road at Tanilba Bay. The roundabout was required to be constructed at the intersections of Lemon Tree Passage Road a, Avenue of the Allies, Poilus Parade and Success Street.

Latitude 1 – Manufactured Home Estate

Barker Ryan Stewart has been engaged by Bodiam Properties c/- North Point Surveyors to provide civil engineering and intersection design services for the home estate at Port Stephens Drive, Anna Bay.

Macquarie IntelliCentre 2 – Data Centre

Australia’s Macquarie Telecom has officially opened its AUS60m datacentre, located in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde. The 8MW Intellicentre 2 datacentre, built on a 20,000m² parcel of land that could ultimately host a second datacentre, will initially offer 2,000m² of technical floor space split evenly over two data halls.

Oz Design Furniture, Rouse Hill

Oz Design Furniture are building a large head office and distribution centre at Rouse Hill. Oz Design Furniture are a house hold name as a furniture retailer in Australia and New Zealand. As part of the building works a large car parking area, access roads and drainage are to be provided. A watercourse is also to be redirected around the building site.

Barker Ryan Stewart are engaged by Oz Design Furniture to provide an innovative detailed water sensitive urban design and creek creation and rehabilitation works through the site.

Cessnock City Council

Cessnock Local Government Area (Cessnock City) covers approximately 1,950 square kilometres within the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. Amongst other industries and attractions within the LGA the Hunter Valley wine-growing area is Australia’s oldest wine region and one of the most famous, with around 4,500 acres under vine.

Barker Ryan Stewart have been engaged by Cessnock City Council to provide Development Engineering, Civil Engineering Design and Strategic Planning Services for a number projects throughout the local government area.

City of Ryde Council

The City of Ryde is located 12 kilometres north-west of central Sydney. There are 16 suburbs within our City, with a mix of residential living and successful business, retail and educational centres. There is also a wide range of natural landscapes, beautiful parks, scenic waterways and areas of historical significance.

Barker Ryan Stewart have been engaged to prepare the City of Ryde Council’s Stormwater Development Control Plan and Technical Manual.

Blue Sky Mining

Located to the west of Sydney, the quarry is to operate and supply the Sydney market with quality clay products to make bricks and tiles. It is anticipated that the quarry will be up and running in 2008.

Barker Ryan Stewart were engaged by Blue Sky Mine to provide civil engineering advice and design a major rural intersection on Elizabeth Drive and an internal haul road, including a bridge and associated drainage works.

Whitehaven Coal Gunnedah

As part of the ongoing development of Whitehaven’s facilities, Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged for haul road and re-fuelling area design.

Our services included:

Leura Fairways Retirement Village

The Leura Fairways Resort provides the height of mountain living for the over 55’s. Based in the Blue Mountains adjacent to Leura Golf Club the resort provides fully serviced spacious apartments with northerly aspect living areas. The Shire of Dungog incorporates the town of Dungog and smaller centres of Clarence Town, Gresford and East Gresford, Martins Creek, Paterson and Vacy and surrounding areas. Situated in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Dungog Shire is famous for its National Parks, State Forests, beautiful countryside and scenery and freshwater streams, and is an ideal place to live, work and invest.

Hawkesbury City Council – WSUD

Barker Ryan Stewart has provided civil design services associated with improving pollution control at the Westlink M7 Control Centre.

DFO Bankstown Airport

The proposed development is for a Direct Factory Outlet shopping centre project at Bankstown Airport.

Barker Ryan Stewart are currently working towards a section 138 Road Act Approval for the major road upgrades and Construction Certificate approval for the large car parks and associated works from Liverpool Council.
