RMS Infrastructure Design
Barker Ryan Stewart is an accredited RD1 RMS road and drainage infrastructure designer, we sit on the RMS Planning and Project Management Panel, and have acted as RMS Project Verifier on over 25 RMS intersection and road infrastructure upgrade projects.
We have undertaken RMS infrastructure (intersection, road and drainage) designs on a number of projects, some of the more recent ones are outlined below:
Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Meriton for the provision of civil design and traffic engineering services associated with their luxury Evoke apartment development.
The Evoke development includes four medium-rise residential buildings consisting of 278 apartments. It also includes onsite entertainment and leisure facilities including; an indoor heated lap pool, gym, landscaped gardens, and onsite retail and childcare facilities.
The project required a large drainage line be moved outside of the development site and so required significant infrastructure works on the upstream roadway, being Church Street and a traffic assessment of the road system around the development.
Dixon Sand Quarry Wisemans Ferry Road and Haerses Road, Maroota
Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Dixon Sand for the provision of civil design and traffic engineering services associated with a sand quarry development located in Maroota.
The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart included the RMS intersection upgrade of Wisemans Ferry Road and Haerses Road. The new intersection arrangement included a channelised right turn lane and road widening for truck turning movements.
Forbes Homemaker Centre Stage 2
Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Forbes Shire Council for the provision of civil engineering design services associated with Stage 2 of the Forbes Homemaker Centre development.
Located on the former saleyards site, the Forbes Homemaker Centre was redeveloped by Council into a bulky goods retail precinct, which includes a Bunnings Warehouse, Spotlight, and three vacant lots for additional bulky goods or restaurant developments.
The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart included Stage 2 internal subdivision design and 3 RMS intersections from the commercial subdivision to the Newell Highway. Intersection arrangements included left in left out, median construction, and channelised right and left turn lanes.
Richmond Road and Cooper Street Intersection, Penrith
Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Penrith City Council for the provision of civil engineering design services associated with the Richmond Road and Cooper Street intersection upgrade.
Penrith City Council required the RMS intersection to be upgraded to a seagull island treatment with a median island stop treatment located in Cooper Street. The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart included the provision of turning paths suitable for buses, pedestrian restrictions, and extended acceleration and deceleration lanes.
