OPAL COTTAGE - NORTH WEST DISABILITY SERVICE
Barker Ryan Stewart is proud to have provided pro bono planning, traffic, and civil engineering design services to assist North West Disability Services with the development of a purpose-built facility known as Opal Cottage. North West Disability Services is a non–profit community organization that believes in the right of people with disabilities to live a full and valuable life within the community.
The purpose-built facility developed in partnership with the North Richmond Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), “The Richmond Cub”, Rotary Clubs of the Hawkesbury and Hawkesbury City Council will enable NWDS to continue to provide respite for families of the Hawkesbury. These much-needed services include community participation, transition to work, social activity programs and many of the available respite and attendant care packages from the NSW Government. Opal Cottage also has a number of clients who access services as self-funded individuals attending programs one or two days per week.
